Has anyone tried this yet? My Galaxie should be in by early next week and i'm trying to take stock of my OD herd to see what might work best with it. I've played EL84 amps for a long time so i'm sorta learning the whole tweed/6L6 thing again.
I'll probably be mostly running the amp "cleanish" and then using OD pedals for my drive.
What's everyone thing of the FDII with the Galaxie?

Haven't tried the Fulldrive with my Galaxie yet. So far, I've been toyin' with the Flying Dragon, Sole Pressure and J-Drive ... and, all have worked very nicely. Mostly running on the clean channel and stompin' thru the boxes .... channel 2 with (or without) boxes is also very, very nice. cheers always, eh Joel

Dear jtw, I bought my Galaxie based on reputation and the sound clips on the DR.Z page because it doesn't need an overdrive... the natural overdrive in the OD channel is just absolutely superb, and the sweet bottled up Tweed clean sounds are more than impressive!
YEP........ ;D I THINK you're gonna find..........you don't NEED no OD pedal w/this rig man. It will just be overkill....MAYbe, a clean boost/modulation/'verb/delay on CH 1.......JMO/YMMV........

Yeah the FDII has gone back in the box with the Galaxie. I am using either a Flying Dragon or GT500 (clean boost side) on Ch 1 and using Ch 2 all by itself; again my ears took some time adjusting to it Galaxie vs the Maz Jr and Z28 - but the sounds and compliments I have been getting are outstanding. When I host the blues jams with the Galaxie it is guitar, cord, and Galaxie

When I host the blues jams with the Galaxie it is guitar, cord, and Galaxie NEED I say more??... ;D The Galaxie is just 1 of those amps that you have to PLAY...It's like an instrument in & of itself....Don't think you can "nail" what it has to offer in a couple of hours...you can't. It is an on-going, "I WANT to learn to play this thing" deal. Just like any other instrument you have ever picked up in your time here....FWIW. Oh, did I say I be lovin' me some Galaxie??

Right on guys! Thanks for the info. I should be getting the Gal early next week so I'm definitely going to spend some time with it. Sounds like everything I'm going to need is right in there already
