Yep, I'm getting it this week. I've been on the fence about this one, but a deal came along that I couldn't refuse. How's yours treating you, Steve?

Scott Actually it's been a while since I plugged in. I have most of my cabs up in the garage 'cause I was using them for gigs, so I have to lug them back down to the studio so I can play with my toys.

Very nice. It's been kinda quiet hear in GT land. From one Scott to another, I have a blond Z-best that would go great with that head :-) I was looking to trade for a red one, but may have to sell and hunt down a red'un

When you plug into the z-best make sure you have your strap locks on and your tray table in the upright and locked position. ;D ;D

Yeah, I plugged in night before last with the Airbrake on bedroom and was reminded just how powerful this amp is.

So i took this thing out last night, and ran it thru my Z 112 with a TT Ceramic and it was fantastic. Ran it around 10 oclock on the volume 9 oclock on the tone with a Les Paul.
Great fat rhythm tone at about 7 on the volume knob (clean or dirty, it was all in the touch), tons of harmonic feedback when you want it. With the volume all the way up it was totally saturated screaming lead tone.
Great, unique amp. Still has some of that classic Z tone, but with a toally different feel and gain structure than any of the other Z's I've had.
Tried out a bunch of speakers, wasn't really keen on the gold or my Webers with this amp, but the TT's are GREAT.

I found it a bit compressed and midrangey with the C. Gold, but the TT was great. It was a ceramic BTW. I've used both TT's, and they're both great, the alnico is sweeter and more compressed, the ceramic is brighter and tighter sounding. I think they are a bit flatter in the mids than the Celestions overall.
I ended up putting the Gold in my Maz NR combo and really like it, too.

I love the Alnico Golds, but they are not for every amp. I'm not crazy about them for the GT, nor the SRZ-65. But they sound amazing with the RXES. I haven't given them an even chance in the Maz yet - when I got to the Tone Tubby I stopped short. That speaker really works nice in the Maz Jr, so why tamper with it?

Not yet, the 66 is still king at my house. It is the one from the Guitars Canada Site, I got a good deal. The GT is a really fun amp, great for lead playing and stuff, but its super loud and I still haven't found a place that I can use it without drowning everybody out. I was using at a jam session on the weekend and we couldn't hear the drummer over top of the GT...a new airbrake is on my list.
