Anyone hear anything about the 6545 being made again???
I use a KT-45 and have always wanted to hear the 6545.

No louder that the SRZ 65 or KT 45, and they are back. There are quite a few of us that gig SRZ 65's, and KT45's. Z forum rockabilly man Surreal Cowboy is gigging a 6545 now.

Just pulled the trigger on a used SRZ 65 LE. Can't wait till she gets here. Thanks a lot Michael Burks; I just heard his stuff on Alligator and I was floored. I had to sell my 57 Tweed Twin to pay for it. I hope the SRZ is worth it. I believe I'll get to hear a "65+45" finally. Just not as lightweight.

I can't help but think the 6545 would be the perfect amp for the Police cover band I'm in. 45 set clean and glassy (walkin' on the moon) and 65 set for that marshally edgy crunch (truth hits, All I want is to be next to you, Fall out.)

I don't know anymore about this channel switching thing. Since I got my SRZ I tried the 45 and the SRZ at the same time. The ultimate headroom cure! Man if I only followed my dream of being an arena rock star maybe then I could actually play that loud without the neighbors calling. But seriously, I always loved playing 2 amps; one dirty and one slightly on the verge. I remeber once playing outside with a 68 Super and a 72 Super Lead but the Z's have it. I think my tone search is maybe finally over. Now what do I do?

So, can someone explain why this amp won't get reissued? It's a crying shame!

The main reason it probably won't be back is because it's a very complex amp to build, relative to the other z's. In todays prices it would be up around the $2K mark. I also think Z looks to the future, which I love- otherwise we might not have gotten amps like the Remedy.

I Gig with an SRZ and it perfect for small clubs and stages, I think the cost of building is a key factor however the other amp Makers , No Names mentioned are doing it and they sell for not too much more than the Z's do. I have always said Tone to $ nobody beats the Z's so for now I will pack 2 Amps! I would love to have a 6545 Cant find one! and when I do see one I hope I can snatch it up. 50-60 watts is very realistic for most rock musicians. The smaller 18 watters tend to break up at 6-8 so no head room. I Vote build the 6545 or an SRZ with a MAZ or Stangray Clean Ch!! Would Be AWESOME!!!!

The 6545 is the perfect amp for me. My 2 favorite Z amps in one.
The cost is why they will not come back into production.
I have since sold all my other amps. It's still hard to get used to the fact that a 2 channel amp can sound this good. Most 2 channel amps always lack something. Not the 6545. You can run this amp at lower volumes! You buy the KT-45 for the headroom so it doesn't matter. The SRZ side can still have some good punch at low volume. I agree with some of the comments about 18 watt amps breaking up too early. I have yet to have an amp under 25 watts that didn't drive my crazy within a couple months.
I have 5751's in it (except the ef86 slot) so the SRZ side has zero fizz.
I love this amp..

Yeah, the 6545 is a great amp. Between the 6545 & the Maz 18, I can't decide which amp is my fave.
Just gigged with mine last weekend (my Maz 18 gets most of the indoor club gig duty). I had no issues getting good tone at reasonable volumes, but I did use an airbrake (which I don't normally like with this amp). It sounded great all night. I usually run the 6545 with a pair of greenbacks, but used a 1X12 cab loaded with a Celestion Classic Lead 80 speaker that sounded great.
I do wish that you could use the amp without a footswitch (I think the amp "defaults" to the SRZ side without a footswitch). I use the KT side a little more than the SRZ side most nights.
It's a keeper though.
