Any idea what 5y3 came stock in the Jr? There are no markings at all on the glass or base.

Funny you mention that as I got a Carmen Ghia a few months before I got my RxJr and the Ghia had an unmarked rectifier tube also. I'm curious too.

It's just some NOS - I'm sure not the most expensive, but is a rectifier so any one will do and should outlast a new production one.

Yeah, I don't think Doc sticks with one particular brand. When you're dealing with NOS stuff you take what you can get. I'll have to look at what mine is.

I went ahead and got a Bendix 5y3gt from kca and put it in mine. Their relatively inexpensive compared to what you pay for a 5ar4, so, I figured, why not. I kept the stock one as a spare. Btw, I think it was either a sylvania or ratheon stock. Which, could be a relabeled one anyway. Never hurts to have a spare lying around.
Btw, for the Bendix, I had to retention the socket. The pins were just a touch smaller than the stock rectifier.

Whatever the stock one is, when I swapped it for an OLD Silvertone 5y3 the tightness improved noticeably.
