Hey guys, mine comes in next Thursday. For those of you who have one what do you think? What kind of tones do you get out of it and what setting do you like? Are you really happy with the amp?

should have mine in my hands at about the same exact time. It's shipping to my office and I've allready worked out the perfect excuse to bail on work.
I'd like to compare notes after we've had a chance to play it. What I'm really looking forward to is running it with my keeley moded ts9 tube screamer just balls to the wall while all of my neighbors are at work.

mine arrived this morning. i've only had a little bit of time with it so far (fiddling in between conference calls). in a nutshell, it totally lives up to the hype. lots of sweet clean Fender goodness, but with a very tight bottom. the reverb is excellent!!! more to follow...

I like it! Interesting tone through a Z 2x10 convertible cab. Spinning the Pre and Post volume controls to various setups seems to be a most subtle affair. I couldn't tell the difference in sound (last night at rehearsal anyway) no matter where I had the knobs. Must experiment some more. MeZa

Well first impressions are that tone wise its great. Reverb is excellent and when you crank the amp up there is just a lot of sustain. I used a stat and a Z 2x10 cab to test it all out. In most cases I kept the ample bass down around 8-9. Its a pretty clean up until both the pre and post are dialed high. When you do that the sustain increases and you get some break up and the volume is now high. For those of you with the amp and who are using single coils, do you know a way to get some gain and a lower level? Its a winner of an amp, I'll be trying to see if gain can be had other ways... there is always the air brake.

I used the EZG-50 combined with the Showman cab again last night for a while. Brought out the Gretsch Country Gentleman and my Phantom 12. OMG! The sound I'm getting from both of these guitars is to die for with this combination. I haven't been so happy since I bought the Stang-Ray last year. This is one GREAT sounding little amp! Best investment I've made this year, so far. MeZa

I'm loving the amp so far. The word that best describes the tone to my ears is 'Americana'. Everything from Bill Frisell to SRV to James Brown with my strat, and from Tortoise to Mike Bloomfield with my Les Paul, all without using any effects, overdrives, boosts, etc. I'm going to wait till I really get some hours logged on it before I post a full review. Still this amp smokes! Note: I find I can definitely get more gain out of my humbucker equipped guitars (all have low output PAF inspired humbuckers) but it still isn't much. I imagine this due to the Fender Lineage but I prefer it this way. I have been waiting a long time for this amp and I think the Doc nailed it!

Throw a 12 string into that mix for some rhythm guitar work and I can just imagine how cool that is going to work. For about a decade I played a Ricky 360-12 through Twins, 4x10 bassmans and even used Ampeg SVTs as a guitar amp with them. Fender Pro Reverbs were my favorite ... the 50 watt 6L6 amps seemed to be my favorite with the 12 strings.

Hi. #53 arrived here last week, and boy what joy and inspiration to play. With a strat I can go Buddy Holly, **** Dale, Jimi, SRV, chorused LA cheese, Blackmore - you name it, the list goes on. It takes my pedalboard very well and what ever way I try to tweek those knobs, it always sounds good (maybe not reverb on 11!). With the Tele it sounds a little less Fender-ish, but of course great. With the I-35 I can go from Wes to T-Bone to Frisell/Sco to Carlton/Robben and then to some serious Malcolm/Angus. I'm stunned. To no surprise It's very dynamic, loud, interactive, cutting without being shrill and piercing etc. Yes - I'm very happy. This is a very good year indeed.

Tried the EZG-50 through one of my Carvin Legacy 4x12 cabinets with Celestion Vintage 30's. Sounds pretty good. Will try it live tomorrow and see how she performs. MeZa
