I'm pretty sure they're voiced the same, but someone that has both (benttop), are they voiced exactly the same?
Just courious.

Personally I can't tell the difference other than the minor differences from tubes. They are voiced exactly the same - one is a LOT louder though. Hey I did a compare clip if I recall.... AH! Here it is: 1/26/08 - Compare RXES to RXJS Setup: Grosh Retro Classic VT > Radial JX-2 A/B/Y Radial Out-1 > RX Junior Strength > Airbrake (1 click) > Celestion Alnico Gold Radial Out-2 > RX Extra Strength > Airbrake (4 clicks) > Celestion Alnico Gold Both Amps: Bass: Dimed Middle: Dimed Treble: Noon Volume: 3 o'clock (8 on the dial) Overdrive: On Master (Jr): Dimed The Junior Strength is on one side, the Extra Strength is on the other. You'll hear the Junior first: www.gear.strayca.com/audio/RXJr/RX_Noodles.mp3

Yep, sounds like the exact same preamp.
Thanks, I forgot about that clip.

benttop: the Rx Jr. has a nice "jangle" to it on the early part of the clip. i love the "sponginess" and the compression of this amp. and it is very percussive just like everyone says. thanks for the clip.

Yeah, it's a very cool amp. Both Prescriptions are very cool amps. One is a lot louder is all.

my jr is veddy veddy bright,, and i also have to back off the bass, a whole lot of bottom, i have been playing it through 4ohms with a 2/10 z cab and a 2/12 celestion g12h30 and a v30. but i would really say there is plenty of bright. i like how you can get the zz top "legs" tone on demand. at any volume. with all de harmonics too. i know that is dated, but you can play lots of stuff with that tone
