Maz Jr. 18 in Red on You Tube
Hey guys please check out my son (lilhendrix132) playing his Red Dr. Z Maz Jr. Combo Amp on You Tube. He is only 12, but I think does a pretty good job with RATM Bulls on Parade and Bombtrack - thanks in advance for your attention and any encouragement you can spare! JET

Thanks for your Dr. Z comments! We really love the Maz Jr. combo in the video. He started when he was 10 by picking up a small old harmony acoustic that I had pulled out of a neighbors trash and started messing around with it. It quickly started to sound musical so he got a really cheap guitar $40 for Xmas. What really made the decision for me to support him in his music, was when he got up in front of a whole auditorium full of parents and played and sang a song on the guitar without ever having a lesson. I thought that took a lot of nerve and that he would need this to be serious and continue. I paid for lessons from then on, but didn't realize it would be so expensive, so I started studying and training myself in guitar & drum equipment. I do not play, but I know my guitars, pickups, amps etc etc. by now. He did a show a few months back and after lifting all those heavy stacks I decided that it may be worthwhile to look into a quality lightweight combo. I had heard the Maz Jr. at a friends shop and liked it a lot. One day I drove an hour and a half away to see the one in the video and came home with it. I was pleasantly surprised at it's versatility and that it could even handle his type of music so well. I need now to get a decent video camera so he can make more videos with better quality then when he first started on You Tube, as we were using cellphones and digital cameras without sound! Jim

Nice amp to learn on! That will inspire him for the rest of his life-- you've given him a hobby he will always have and no one can take away from him.
Good on ya!
Sounds killer to me.

The Maz Jr. is in the background here, but not turned on, as this is strictly acoustic. The African Satinwood and Sitka Spruce top acoustic guitar "Black Pearl" was made by Dennis MacPherson and you can see my son in the Gallery of Artists which includes the Jonas Brothers www.MacPhersonguitarworks.com
