There's been lots of talk about how percussive and touch responsive th RX Jr is, is it safe to say that this amp is simply a lower wattage version of the Extra Strength or is it voiced completely differently?
I am really thinking about getting a 2nd Z and am looking at the entire line but I think I want to stay below (or around) 20watts, my Maz Jr is plenty loud even attenuated. I am looking for an amp that will allow me to play primarily blues and country with single coil guitars.
I've see lots of talk about setting the Master Volume and the Volume at different levels, from all the pic I've looked at I only see 1 volume, am I missing something?

The Master Volume is on the back where the 16 ohm speaker out would be. Steve (bentop) did a side by each comparison of the RxES and the RxJS in the sounds section. I only have the Jr. but based upon the sound clips they are voiced quite the same to my ears.
The thing with the RxJS is that the Master volume is different than the Maz Jr. MV. I have used the RxJS with and without the Airbrake and I like it without it as long as my MV is above 1:00. To me once I have the MV below 12:00-ish I will hook up the Airbrake and crank the MV and use the AB as the master. In my current gig I am using a LP in the lo input.

I have both here and they are amazingly similar. My RXES might have a tad more gain, which would be accounted for by virtue of the fact that it has different tubes in it. But the actual tones and dynamics are spot on. Same amp, lower volume.

+1 I'd have to agree with Steve, the 2 amps are quite similar. I have read a couple threads that describe Junior as being bright, In my experiences so far I'd have to disagree, Yes most amps ran flat out will get bright, but Junior is very smooth as is my RXES. So far Ive played both through a Celestion Gold (came with the ES), GB's, and G12T75's , Yes the RXES has more Horsepower, but they are quite close sound and feel wise. Paul
