I have discovered that this amp actually sounds better wiith out the boost on. The boost is cool for solos and power chords but for country and clean sounds the amp is way more sparkley and dynamic with it off. Quite remarkable actually. I think most people (like me) might just keep the boost on all the time but the without it man does it sound great!!

Several people here have the boost on all the time... but then plug into the low input. Gain-wise, it probably evens out, but the boost gets the EF86 into the circuit more. I've done both, and just leave it in the high input, boost off. (at least for right now... )

Actually with my Les Pauls and ES 335s I've been doing the low input with no OverDose. With my Fenders I go hi input. P90 I go high with OD!!! I'm still experimenting.
