After I let my repair work cure over night, I cranked up the 30W, no dope, Alnico Silver Bell. I played it for a couple of hours this morning and it think it is the best single 12" I've heard with this amp.
To me, the RxJr is a bright amp and this speaker tames that just enough. I had the volume at about 6 and kicked in the overdose and it has a great growl to it. For pure, really clean country, I might go with something else, like the blue dog, but this speaker sounds great with the cleaner stuff and just gets better with more overdrive.
I'm a little worried about it changing to much after it's broken in, but I hope it only gets better! ;D ;D

Glad the repair worked out for ya!!! What kind of cabinet is the speaker in? PT Yeah, so far so good! I may eventually put it in something else, but it's in an EarCandy 1x12 right now. I like that cab, but it's not usually what I use live.

Should I keep my 1X12 convertible and and try a SilverBell instead of getting a Zbest? Ican only afford one!! I guess it really boils down to how much air you're wanting to move. I have an alnico blue/silver 212 cab and love it! The silver has a lot of bottom end and helps pick up where the blue leaves off. Volume wise, the silver in a 112 cab won't be as loud as the Z best. It will be MUCH lighter though. I don't know if that helps or not. :-)

Remember, this is just my opinion, but if you like the description then you might want to try one. I don't know about "instead of" a Z Best, though. It depends how much volume you need - the alnico 1x12 won't be near as loud as the Z Best. For the places I play, that's usually a good thing. But, I have a Z Best that I can take to larger places, if needed.

Thanks Don, And you know my situation...Maybe Two convertibles will sound great for Rock and Blues in larger gigs if I don't want to hall a Zbest.... Do you need a ''y'' speaker cord to hook up two convertibles @8 ohms with a Rx Jr.??

I've only played the Zbest once and WOW. Very nice cab. Very three-diminutional. However, I don't need that kind of volume so I went with the convertible 112. For what I do it's perfect. Versatile and can be carried fairly easily.
It all depends on what you need, but comparing the tow is like comparing apples and oranges.
