Here's MY "Paisley" setting...
Bass 2 Mids 6-10 (depends on guitar) Treble 2 Vol 4-5 MV 10 I then use an attenuator to knock the volume down just a bit... a Weber Mini-mass that is "cranked", which means I'm getting attenuation only from the insertion loss, I'm not actually using the attenuator knob. I find I like attenuators better than master volumes. Also, I'm playing thru an Emi Red Fang 1x12... I'll be getting a Weber Blue Alnico shortly...
As a comparison, here's a couple of Brad's settings on his RXES that I've found pics of over the years...very different settings... a different amp, but just for comparison: Bass 2 Mids 8 Treble 4 Vol 4 (no MV on this amp, which equals the MV being cranked on the JR)
Bass 8 Mids 5 Treble 4 Vol 5 (again, no MV)
I've also read that what brad was doing at the time he was using primarily the RxES was to "set all the knobs at noon, the adjust for the room". Which leads me to my next statement: this amp sounds like "itself" no matter where the knobs are. The RxJR will only ever sound like an RxJR, and by proxy, sound like Brad Paisley. really. The Z sound is so unique that any EL-84 Z will get to you "Paisleyville" quite easily.

Are those settings like a clock or going from 1-10?

Those are 1-10 setting, NOT O'CLOCK.
But seriously, if you are playing a tele, and an alnico speaker, it would be hard NOT to sound like Brad with this amp, maybe with the volume cranked & Overdose on. Brad will sound like Brad no matter what he plays thru, but the Z's really get you there fast.

I would say 99.999999% of the folks here bought this amp because of Brad (I know I did!).... What settings are you using to get his sound? Post some pics!! I must be the .000001% that wants this amp but nothing at all to do with Brad P ;D No offense, he's a hell of a player.

I'm in that small percentage too. Actually I was thrilled when I found that he was using Dr. Z amps... and even more thrilled when I saw red ones! I bought it because I loved the Stang Ray but I wanted less power, but different than my Maz Jrs. While I wish I could do what Brad, or any touring pro can do with a guitar, I'm a realist and just keep doing what I do and try to expand as I go. I get alot of people asking me though, as all my gigging Dr. Zs are Red, if I bought it because of BP.

I was about to say I must be in the .000001% too... lol I got my 1st Z a few years back which was an Original RX... before I was really aware that Brad was playing them... guess I lived in a bubble... It's cool he plays em... but I just REALLY like the RX's alot... I'd never sound like or even come close to playing like Brad in a million years. unfortunately I pretty much sound like me no matter what i seem to do... but the Z's DO help me FEEL like I'm connected to the guitar through the amp like no other I've played. I'm Glad Brad got with Doc and redid the RX... and then worked out the Stingray/ Stangray which is just a CLASSIC amp... I think the RX JR just makes sense because the RX's were SO loud... Like the Maz SR, the Maz JR makes sense too and both the JR's are just more usable for most of us club playing mere mortals. but if ya wanna get close to what brads doing Most of these el-84 Z's will get you close and your hands/ talent has to take care of the rest. So Jason I guess what I'm trying to say is my settings just won't help... ;D ;D

I'm in the minority as well. I like BP's playing, but don't own a single disc of his. I can't say enough good about his playing, but I'm still not a country fan. I may buy his instrumental album whenever that comes out.
I was originally going to buy a Maz Jr., but when I heard about the Rx Jr I decide to switch orders because of the built in boost, which I really don't use. However, I'm happy with my purchase. It's just a great amp. The cleans you can get through this thing are amazing and if pushed just a bit of hair. Add a pedal for higher gain and that's all it need. Simple, yet tasteful.

I bought my first Z in 2003 before I'd even heard of Brad Paisley. I wasn't even much of a country fan, although I always appreciated guys like Brent Mason when I happened to hear him burnin' on some tune. Somehow, I don't remember where or when, I read about this Paisley guy who played through the same kind of amp I had and how he was supposed to be this great player.
I checked him out, and now I have three Teles and I do hybrid picking all the time. He definitely inspired me to play a little differently.
Sometimes I think this forum gets a little too syrupy when it comes to Brad P - I mean, I love the guy but I almost get tired of seeing references to him here. But he's great, that's all there is to it.

Its funny, I bought a Brad Paisly CD because of Dr Z amps!!! I am probably not your typical Z user but I love the Z amps, right now I just have the Z-28 which I fell in love with.
However, my Musical tastes growing up was Iron Maiden, King Diamond, Early metallica, Dream Theater in my 20's. Now I kinda just listen to Classic Rock and Steve Vai Cd's
You would think it would be against my nature to buy one of these amps but the sound is awesome. For the past month I havent even touched my Ecstacy or SLO100 and probably wont in the near future.
