I'm wondering because I'm seriously considering buying one. I've got a line on a blonde head that I can get a good deal on and just wondered how good the attenuator/MV worked. It'll spend MOST of it's time in my home studio...so getting some great tones at low-volume is a MUST.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

I think the Master works great, but I guess that depends on how low you want the volume. I don't think any [non-modeling] amp sounds that good unless you're moving a little air.

Thanks for your reply kruzty....and I agree about the "moving air" theory....and I'm not looking for something I can coax sweet smooth blues tones out of at "midnight in the apartment complex" volume.....but I do need something that can sound great at fairly low volume...
Wow...I said nothin!! anyhow...Karma to you for the quick reply.

I think the the MV works exceptionally well on the Rx. Jr...even better than the one on the Maz Jr. If you need break up you can get it, but of course the louder you go the better. I use an OD pedal to get break up. The cleans are yummie. I have an Airbrake, but don't use it live. I only use it at home for really low volume practicing...don't want to wake the 8 mos. old!

If you talk to Eric at Willcutts he'll have you buying a Rx over the Maz in no time. He's been a Maz player for years, but told me the Rx gets the most use.
Both are great amps. Just depends on what needs you have. The built in boost is very nice with Rx. Then again the Maz has the cut knob. I believe the Rx has more gain though. It would be cool to play them side by side.

Just replaced my Maz Jr with Rx Jr. IMHO, the RX Jr runs circles around the Maz Jr in tone shaping possibilities. In my opinion the Rx Jr. takes pedals better than the Maz. Master volume works great too. Definitely a great amp for home use. If you have good OD pedals, you can get great crunch at low volumes. I use a Barber Small Fry and a BB Plus.

I have an Airbrake, but don't use it live. I only use it at home for really low volume practicing...don't want to wake the 8 mos. old! YOu have to start breaking them in early. My son is now 2 1/2 yrs. and I always played acoustic guitar after he went to bed in the living room for the 1st year. Now I can play the electric with the Micro Mass almost all night and have zero issues. Flip side. If I play one note in the morning he's up and calling for me. Keep it up guys. You all are making me seriouly sick to my stomache knowing I have to waite another 6-9 months before I can think about spending on another amp. Next year will be totaly different for me. Car payment goes away and a couple of $100+ a months bills will be gone also..... DAVE

I had to wait forever on the Rx Jr and was stuck borrowing amps in the mean time because my Fender had been stolen!

That is a horrible storey. I couldn't hang
If you were single it would have been time to shack up with a stripper or take a job at the music store.... Sense I'm married, I would have cried and complained untill the wife broke down and gave me some of the savings. Won't work here as I have 3 amps laying around.
