I've been playing my CIJ tele with a P90 at the neck through my Jr. I love the sound. Great punchy cleans and just the right thickness of OD.
Well, the tele went down this past week and I switched to my strat. I really didn't think much of it until I was playing with the band and wow, this thing sound great through this amp! The cleans are perfect! Glassy with a bit of punch.
Doc really knows how to design an amp that lets the guitar sing no matter what type. My next step in trying my buddies LP. I love this amp.

10-4....I'm mostly playing an MIA Strat w/Lindy Fralin Vintage Hots and it sounds awesome. So far this amp likes guitars as much as it likes speakers, everything sounds good. That's what I'm talking about ;D.

RxJR is one of those amps that sounds great with whichever speakers I've used. Can't wait for 4x10 cab when I can get around to locate one.

How does Doc design such great amps? So far everything I've thrown at this thing (guitars, pedals, speakers) has sounded great.

Fender Am. Std. Tele with Rio Grande Muy Grand in bridge/Texas Special in neck. But the Jr. also loves my Ibanez Artcore AF75 with GFS pickups.
Currently playing it THRU an Eminence Red Fang... pretty sweet.

So far I've played Teles and Les Pauls and ES335 with mine. All are great. Most people I play with use Strats, so I haven't done that yet, but I intend to. So far I like all pedals too, some better than others but no issues at all with what I have. Currently I am playing with a BoogaFnk Theile Ported with a 12" Weber Ceramic Silver 30W and the humbuckers LOVE THIS. But they also did well with a 2x10 with ceramics and through a Maz Jr. combo cabinet!! With the Z-Best it's a monster. It was really nice with the 2x12 Cel Al Blues too!
What I'm saying is, it's great all around!
I think these threads about the RxJr. are great, and we all are saying alot of the same things in different ways!

Hey Bluzman, how loud is the amp with the two Celestion Blues?

It's loud enough... To me there is more volume with the ceramic speakers though.
The open back 2x12 with the al blues adds a nice vibe, as there is a plenty of bottom built into this amp.

I've only had the Rx Jr a couple days now, but I'm liking my Peavey Limited VT through there. It's a Strat-style guitar, but actually has a chambered body. I believe it may have been Peavey's take on some Tom Anderson models. It's a nice american-made guitar.
The pickups may be a tad flat, but the chambered body gives the guitar a little more 'snap' that my Strat. Almost a cross between a Tele and a Strat.
I think I'll order a set of Kinman's to go in there. It almost makes me want to cancel the Tele I have on order.........ALMOST!!!!

I think the rxjr sounds best for me thru a stock z best............. The best tones I have gotten are with p90's, strat single coils and my ASAT tele. I am still fighting with getting a humbucker to sound good thru the JR. To my ears it's a little too "conjested" or compressed. This could be my les paul's fault , however, as i just recently ordered new 500k pots...that have yet to be installed......it has frailins.

My LPs sound great with the Jr. and open back 2x10 or 1x12. With some single 12s it does well too. With the Z-Best a LP and the RxJr. is a MONSTER rig and not my sound but with single coils and the Z-Best it's great. I cut back the bass on the amp alot with the LP.

I just tried a PRS ( I'm usually not a fan) new Mira thru the RX Jr and WOW CREAM all over again (the Band) I was pleasantly knocked out by the TONE )... I normally play a LP and a Grosh Strat but this thing sounded very nice and different .

Just bought a PRS Mira. I thought I would not get a 24 Fretter but it's voice like my first guitar a 65 SG. The SG had a space before the neck pup where the two extra frets are it's like a bonus with the same voicing...It also reminds me of a LP special 'cept W/ humbuckers and a coil tap... I wanted something so I could bring one guitar to a gig and leave my 59 RI Lester and My Grosh at home...The guitar sounds Killer @6lbs 9oz through the RX Jr w/ and Z convertible W/ a G12H .

So far for me it's been my '88 Lester with Fralins or my CIJ Pink Paisley Strat, RC, BB (makes some KILLER high gain tones with this btw) then into my Z 212 open back with Weber Blue and Silver Alnico 30 watters. Loving it!!!! Now I just have to improve my playing to match the dynamics of this baby. Just like everyone said, this is one amp you can't hide behind. Oh yeah, the RC + Overdose and master dimed is awesome!! I love to hear that ef86 doing it's thang.....

I've been guitar swapping lately since I'm not playing in a band at the moment. Using a Les Paul with Fralin PAF's in the RX is awesome. It loves a 336 too. Sold my MIA Strat Deluxe when I picked up a Masterbuilt and the RX loves that too. I guess it would be easier to list the guitars that don't sound good in an RX ;D.

It doesn't matter what you throw at this amp it just makes the instrument sound good. The true mark of a well designed amp.

I have three really nice G&L's that would sound great through a RxJr, but I don't have one.
Gonna try to waite untill the end of the year before I buy one. Order of progression. 1x12 Z cab then RxJr. That way I have both speakers for the Z-28 and when the RxJr comes in I have it's matching cab already....
But, if any of you have a back up RxJr laying around and want to loan me for 6 months. I'll return it with new JJ power tubes when I get mine.
