i have always been curious how you can date a Z amp using the serial number? mine starts with 6*** its an original RX 2x12 combo.

That seems odd. There should be a letter ahead of the numbers. That is the key. Example: My Ghia is a "J" which is 99-My Maz is an "O" which is 2004.

Are you sure the "6" isn't a "G?"

I need to actually remember to look at the serial number and write it down......
but my Route 66 has the 2003 anniversary sticker, yet has July 1999 date hand written on the inside of the cab. It it written on the reverse of the face plate.
The amp has the non-detachable power chord and the Interstate Logo.
How might the anniversary sticker made it on there? Perhaps it was examined by the Doctor around 2003?
