i seem to be having an issue with my RX ES. it's loaded with new tubes (all less than 2 months old) and sounds incredible, clean. i also have an airbrake, which i use to try and get the natural OD out of the amp without putting a hole in the wall.
BUT......
i haven't been able to achieve an even semi-decent sound out of the amp with the volume cranked and attenuated (trying to get the OD out of the amp). it is quite possibly the worst sound i've ever heard come out of an amp. when playing my guitar aggressively, it sounds like my RX ES is spitting the tubes out and stomping on the speaker cones. absolutely HORRIBLE sound!!! my tubes seem to be operating fine, and as i mentioned before, without the volume dimed, the amp sounds just like it should; AMAZING!! I usually use pedals (OCD, timmy) to get my rhythm and lead OD tones. But I wanna get to using the overdose when needed, and right now it seems absolutely unusable.
what could be the problem here. anyone wanna give me some insight on how i can fix this?!?
