Great googly moogly man...Don't know where to start. Tas, You Rock. Your band rocks, your production rocks, the Rt 66 rocks. When I heard the tone on M.U.F. and then on Save Me, that's it; the Doc made another sale (will need to wait a month or so for that tho).
You guys pull this off live as a 3 piece? Love to see/hear that. And you've got a hellava vocal range on you man. You're throwin "Geddy Lee" high notes at the end of The Abyss.
Outstanding....best of luck with the release.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Just remember, a percentage of all cd sales will go back to Dr Z (in the form of a new amp or cab of some sort)!

Hey Johnny, my roadie "friend who lugs" is from Peroria, ever heard of it? He actually has a PHD in Marine Biology that he just completed from University of Tasmania. I'm the only muso who's roadie has a PHD that I know of! Thanks for the comments. Yeah, gotta fight for those solos, my Producer would probably prefer if I didn't do any! It's too "old school". Thank god for the "Darkness"...it may just become "cool" again!

Hey, Thanks Huckleberry, I agree it's probably the most radio friendly song. I kinda dig the uni-vibe sounds too.

Wow great stuff! Your voice, and the sound of your songs remind me of this band called Switchfoot. Keep up the good work. ;D

+1 for Mr Tas. Im very impressed with the tones your getting out of the 66... are you going straight into the amp? no pedals? Thanks Strato, yep, straight in. A few songs I used a Fulltone mini Deja Vibe for color on some rhythm parts and I used a standard Clyde Wah and/or Fulltone Fatboost for solos. Oh and the Ulbrick Pro Octave for the outro solo in "Drift". Every song was recorded on the same setting. I just adjusted guitar volume for shades of dirt, semi dirt and clean...Or dug in hard with the right hand to get the hard rock dirt. Should be available very soon. I'm looking forward to the release. Cheers

I forgot to mention also, the whole album was recorded with a dirty old 57! I kept saying to the engineer, "When ya gonna bring out the good mikes?" And he kept sayin' "the 57 is your friend"!!

taswegian, Good stuff Im guilty of listening, liking, but not replying but so many people responded to my clip that I though I should "rectify" the situation. Once again, good stuff, great vocals and guitar work.

I enjoyed the record on the laptop speakers .. good tone, groove feel and dynamics. Your voice is real ... A+. I need to hear it in the studio to be sure, but who did your mastering?

Jaye here's a HUGE +1 for ya!
I've been listening to these clips one at a time the past day and half man (after I COMPLETELY forgot to come back to them after you posted them), and your songwriting/playing/arrangements... the whole package, are ABSOLUTELY KILLER. Your tunes are leaving my jaw dragging on the floor as I walk from my office to the coffee pot. AWESOME tunes man. Let me know when I can buy the album FOR SURE!

Hey Chad, thanks for the kind words, it really means alot to me at the moment. I get so much industry feedback saying my arrangements and songwriting is shooting myself in the foot. Seems like everyone who was interested in me, isn't interested in this album They basically are telling me to make everything "simpler" and work on bigger hooks and "more conventional" structure, bla bla bla... So it was really nice to hear something positive! Looks like we've both been pretty busy lately. I just spent a week in Melbourne. This is the first post I've seen for a week and I must say you have made my day Thanks mate!

This is the first post I've seen for a week and I must say you have made my day Thanks mate! eff'em man! Keep following your heart -- THAT is what sells albums. The REAL 'next big thing' is NEVER a product of commercialism; in fact, I would go so far as to say the 'next big thing' always succeeds DESIPITE commercialism, NOT because of it. I'm not completely anti-establishment or anything, but I just wanted to offer you some personal reassurance that there are tons of people out there that will dig your music for how REAL it is.... it's just a matter of getting the message to the masses! To my recollection, most of my favorite bands at one time or another all had to tell a record company to 'pound sand.' Zeppelin comes to mind in a BIG way there... To quote Wayne's World (and it's ODD that this is the second time I've quoted that movie somewhere in the same number of weeks): "Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes that everybody loved... They left that to the Bee Gees." Definitely be Zeppelin man, not the Bee Gees.

Jaye... DITTO what Peach said...Eff Umm!!! Big time.... You ROCK! I love your style! DON"T change for anybody but yourself and only do that to keep challenging yourself and pushing YOUR music foward...cause YOU have something MOST folks DON'T have...YOUR own sound/ YOUR own style/ it's YOUR music... very cool! blues guy myself but I like GOOD music.... and it's GOOD music!! It just goes to show the music industry doesn't know it's ss "Shane" from a hole in the ground in my opinon!! Usually the tail wags the dog... usually an artists just PROVES to the suits that they know what they do best and the audience already knows that too... and there's dozens of examples of "suits" or "Critics" telling artists what they need to do.... to be this or that.... I distinctly remember this rolling stone reporter just trashing U2's guitar player before they really hit with some of their bigger albums... and I distinctly remember thinkin; "this guy doesn't know his ss "Shane" from a hole in the ground.." I thought the EDGE ( altough not my style) was a brilliant guitar player then before they were HUGE and absolutely fit what they were tryin to do AND THEN DID!! Think that reporter got fired for being an idiot... Your stuff is great you have your own sound ( I'd like to hearsome MORE of that sound I heard on "unwanted friend" makes ME want to get a route 66 NOW???!!!!) keep on "duck divin" and avoid the waves of @rse holes!! I gave up surfing when I was 16... couldn't afford both boards AND Guitars!! Jason

Jaye..Hearing your MP'S for HYPO- has helped me to grow closer to my RT 66........Its such a blues "king" but, you are doing your own thing with it by Rocking it to death! +1 for that....... As far as the recordings themselves..........your music has a distinctive tone-feel and harmonic presence that "gets" me.......like that way some of those classic tunes from the 70's are imprinted on my mind.........your melodies have a lasting quality that makes them easy to hummm............easy to "hook "into.......The HOOKS are huge ! Unfortunately we live in a society obsessed with the pursuit of "things" ........i.e the rec. companies...........and this pursuit has left behind a huge decrease in the amount of true "art" that is being produced........art that touches people and takes them to a place $ cannot buy access to.........so I guess I am saying that the fact that your tunes have inspired so many "Z" brothers..............is of higher importance than those record execs...... of course.........a lot of $ for your efforts wouldn't hurt either!

Well guys, I'm truly overwhelmed by the response to this post. I so appreciate your comments, encouragement and knowledge. Looks like we are going to release it here independently. It will be available in the Nth America (or anywhere else) through CD Baby and Tower records within the next couple of months. I will be sure to let you all know! www.cdbaby.com/all/pisceanwarGigged Wed night and Konrad's (drummer) solo at the end of "Drift" brought the house down! It's a pleasure to play with the guy. Wish I had a live recording....I'll have to get some and post them on my site once it is updated/rebuilt. It's a pleasure to be part of this community!
