What is the speaker sensitivity of the Dr Z 10'' speakers??? To me, they seem really efficient and loud. Sound good though.

Perhaps the speaker design was changed from 2005 (Doc's post) to 2010 (Brent's answer via email).
I always thought they were 100+dB sensitivity speaker as well as they are LOUD! Not a bad thing though!
Interested in getting to the bottom of this as well I have brought up in posts just recently tha the Doc's 10" speakers were high(er) rated speakers!
Cheers Ben

I emailed Brent just over a year ago to ask which convertable cab was more efficient, the 2x10 or the 1x12 V30. The reply stated that the 2x10 was more efficient, so I went with the 1x12 as I wanted less efficiency, more breakup. If the V30 is 100dB, however, that suggests the 2x10 cab is greater.

I would also love to know the truth!! This info is what I have in my Maz Jr. sticky. If it needs corrected, I would like to know for sure... Speaker info:Numerous Maz Jr. owners love how the Dr's 2x10 Cab, with the Dr's custom speakers sound with their amp. Me included. www.humbuckermusic.com/drz2xspca.htmlUnlike many of the other Cabs produced by the Dr, the Convertible Cab incorporates a Floating Baffle Design. This is to give the Cab better resonance, and helps to make it sound more alive. The speakers are rated at 70 watts each, so the Cab is rated at 140 watts. The Dr's 10" speaker efficiency rating is 96.7 dB at 1w/1m. They are assembled in-house. Basket and magnet is Eminence. The cone assembly is special made, ordered from England. The 2x10 Cab weighs 46.20 lbs. with the back in place, and 43.75 lbs. with the back panel off.Theoretically, the 2x10 Cab's total volume should be rated at 99.7dB at 1 watt/meter. 96.7dB to start... Double the surface area for using two speakers (+3dB) = 99.7dB Total.(Understand that the +3dB thing is an approximation, not exact science.)

I don't know all the specs, but I recently bought an empty (amp-less) 2X10 MAZ cab from another forum member with the stock Z speakers, and put the MAZ 38 amp from my 1X12 combo (stock G12H30) in it....BIG difference as far as volume and efficiency with the two Z 10's. Those things are loud and proud.

NEVER call it small and don't ever say it doesn't push enough air. He gets very sensitive to that kind of talk... highly sensitive.
