OK you asked for it, now you get a load of mind-numbing wanking in the key of F of all things. In fact, I don't even play with any chord changes, I just play around F for a dang long time.
Here's the deal - tons of problems with ProTools here - I'm about done with those guys. Every time I want to use their software there is some problem that stops me. Enough.
So I dug out my old tried and true portable mp3 recorder. This is two mics straight in to the recorder with no post editing (or the levels would have been fixed).
I started with the Strat's volume control at 6 and then turned up after a few bazillion notes or so. You'll hear when it happens.
Here is the setup:
CS Strat (neck pup) > Z-Wreck > THD Hot Plate (-8db) > Wreck Cab
Volume: Dimed
Treble: 2:30 o'clock
Bass: Noon
Cut: 2 o'clock
About 3/4 of the way through I turned the treble down to about 1 o'clock and the cut to about 1 o'clock because I thought it might be too bright (I tend to like it bright).
Since this was about my fourth attempt, my fingers were hurting like crazy, and I stopped trying to get really cool dynamic effects - maybe if I can get my recording system working AGAIN I'll try to do that next time.
Oh yeah, the clip:
Z-Wreck001 (13 megabytes)
Oops, this is one Rode NT1 about a foot in front of the Z-Wreck, and the second one back about six feet and pointed at a 90 degree angle. You can tell the one that is up close on the recording as it is louder. If I had a decent editor working here, I would have made them the same level, but no. Time for new software I think...
