...just because its never too loud ;D
Anyone know what ohm the extension cabinet for the galaxie needs to be if an 8ohm cabinet is already on it? I am guessing 8 ohms for a 4 ohm total load but I am not sure.
I have a z-best 2x12 (V30/G12) as my main and I want to hang a closed back cabinet (V30/G12) off of the extension jack. Anyone try this yet? I am curious to see how good/bad it sounds.

Just use another 8 ohm cab plugged into the Extension Jack.

That needs to be in the manual. ;-)

This means I need a second Air brake for home practice Which leads to my second question: My "other" cabinet is wired to take a second cabinet (the Z-best in this case) in parallel which would make that load 4ohms at the Galaxie's main output. Is this a configuration the output transformer can handle and/or is it "better" to simply use the two outputs?

If the airbrake works like Weber's attenuators, it is more important to match the attenuator input to the amp output impedance. Then, it isn't import what load you put on the attenuator output (as long as you don't bypass it). But, you should check with someone more knowledgable about the Airbrake to make sure.

I have read nothing that indicates an ohm requirement for the airbrake - in the 2004 review by GP or on the Drz website.
The Weber specs talk about what their attenuators can handle and I thought that as long as the output transformer sees what it needs to see, it would be fine (assuming that it is seeing what is on the other side of the attenuator.) I don't know how impedance is handled or behaves in the air brake.
The absence of information (WARNING: dangerous assertion follows) would seem to indicate an irrelevance as far as impedance goes, assuming (another bad thing to do) that the cabinet and amp are properly matched prior to inserting the air brake in the output path.
